Well done
I am sorry you are going through this. We all ask these questions when our loved ones are dying for a long drawn out sickness. Watching them suffer is the hardest thing. I think in the end we all will lose the will to live here and wish to live in Heaven. Pray does give us hope and helps us to cope.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.

You're welcome. I know what it is like for both my parents died of cancer. You are sad that they are gone but glad that they are no longer in pain.

I know how terrible it is when a loved one is so ill, that there's little hope.
I watched my sister go through so much, and yes she did leave us...If one is a religious person, then we can always look forward to the thought of everlasting life..If not, then it's very hard to watch a loved one pass away....I did it when my husband became ill, and left us in final sleep within a few days...I wish your wife well, I hope she continues to get better...I know it must have been difficult for you, and I must say, you stood by your wedding vows. It is very worrying when we see someone who has given up on life, my husband decided that he would rather die than go through the treatment as he just had enough of it all. I am glad your wife pulled through, a poignant write, love Dolly x

I know exactly how you felt, Tom. Fortunately your wife realised she had much to live for and rallied. I watched my brother slowly give up on life, but in his case, there was no life for him to come back to. It would have meant staying in hospital for the rest of his life. Fortunately I haven't experienced this at all, but I'm at the age now were things aren't working so well...with both of us, but the will to live is still very much in evidence, a nicely written free verse my friend, blessings Roy
