I could completely connect with this piece. I too have the ghosts of memories I won't let go. "I choose to bear the ache of pain/for the pleasure of remembering" is a perfect summary.

A very sensually expressed and dream-like free verse about a lost love (or is it?) I enjoyed the heart-felt passion of your poem and the detailed memory of this lover which is so real and resonant here. Ideally I would not have chosen a red background which, when combined with small-sized font, makes it an issue to read especially for those visually challenged.
