My sympathy goes to your wife as a suffere from chronic back pain. But mine is nothing compared with what she suffers. It would seem fthe midwife di not get it right. An interesting use of senryu to create a suite.

Thank you pantygwnt. I very much appreciate your comments. I see you can definitely identify with back pain. Yes, that midwife did us no favors, but the child of our love has three of our grandchildren today. The youngest 10. I the coming days I will write a couple more of those formats you created. I now have 7 published books and I reference you in them, where appropriate .

I'm so sorry. I will add her to my prayers. That's a long time to be in such pain, but I know prayers help.

At 80, also, I'm discovering new places to have pain.

Powerful piece that shows your love and sympathy from afar.

It can be difficult to watch our loved ones struggle. Sometimes we can only love them.

No SPAG critique to offer.

Thank you for sharing!!

I am so sorry for your poor wife, Tom. I remember when she had the knee surgery, it wasn't long after I'd had mine. But her back pain, that must be so debilitating. To have had it all those years, too, my goodness, it's a wonder she remained sane. Did she get any compensation? I hope she did, not because of the money but because of what it could be spent on to help her cope more. I will also add her to my prayers, my friend. Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

Thank yo so much Sandra. Yes, in about 1994 she finally got Social Security Disability and received a stipend, so that she no longer had to work. I appreciate your comments and prayers.

I enjoyed your poem very much, however, it is quite sad that your wife has gone through these difficulties. I myself have gone through a few difficult difficulties. I had severe back pain for over three years, and I finally was able to overcome it with a good diet and with walking. I, do hope that God will see it to heal your wife completely so that she might be able to live life without pain. Patricia.

This is excellent at outlining the beauty of life from the joys with a new birth to the pain that life can bring, both physically and mentally. I have found that writing is a great escape from life and its misery.
