I think your goals for the new year are worthy; instead of "resolutions", you are aiming to grow as a human by challenging yourself to new things.

This all sounds most sensible to me and (even as an Australian who isn't affected to the same degree) I echo your sentiments about Biden and Trump - especially Trump. If he somehow makes it back into office, it's absolutely the end of civilisation as we know it.
