I've been hanging back on reviewing this, Tom, so that I can give it the six it deserves. You tell a story that I'm not familiar with, so it has been an education as well as a joy to read.
You segue from one sonnet to the next seamlessly and achieve an easy narrative flow with your run-on lines. Some clever rhyming, too. (Eg six/politics)
I'd have been inclined to go for gate/fate(s) in the fifth sonnet, and martial heroe's names in the first should read martial heroes' names
A real tour de force, Tom. Congratulations!

Thank you Tony. I very much appreciate your comments. A singular fate , or fates of a multiple large group, I guess I could go either way. I?ll fix that spelling. Good to hear from you.

I appreciate this great writing. So informative a story I have never heard before, So many eventsand preludes to events in history are never told.

And I want to say welcome back! I honestly hahave not posted much in the past two years. I am trying to ramp back up and do more.

Since last chatting I actually retired again (May 2022).

I am looking forward to your posts.

What a nice surprise to see your name in my messages again, Tom! And what an amazing historical poem you have graced us with. I very much enjoyed it. I don't blame the natives one little bit, they were robbed, pure and simple. Well done my friend! Sandra xx (I'm in hospital, have been since the 18th!)

    HI Sandra,
    So good
to hear from you too. I have been away doing the publishing thing. but now I'm done with that. So I think I'll be more active, Sorry to hear you are in the hospital. I hope it's not too serious and that you'll recover soon. Hard to be there during the holidays. Hope you have a happier New Year.

This is quite an interesting bit of history that you have presented us with. IThis is quite an interesting bit of history that you have presented us with. I enjoyed listening to it very much.
I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering where you had been I haven't seen you in. Seems like a long time. I'm still hanging in there and I have published two books. I published a book of my life and I called it she did right Now she does write. I also published a book of spiritual poetry, which is called a masterpiece for him. They are both available on Amazon. Hi Patricia. It's been 4 years. Nice to see that you're still around. Congrats on your books. I've published 7 books now. Done with that so I'll likely be posting more now.

I loved your story here and I learned about his history from your crown of sonnets.

Your metre is off in places, although it did not spoil the story for me.

I have a suggestion for these two lines to bring them into metre for you.

(The tribes were promised, sacred their Black Hills)
(and other (well-established) tribal lands),

Much enjoyed, love Dolly x x x
