When I was growing up, back in the Midwest, that actually had autumns we would rake our leaves and roast hot dogs, drink hot cocoa, and roast marshmallows. I wonder if children of today's world get to do those things or if they're too busy with their electronics. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us.

you know... I actually love raking things up... hey(((((, but raking doesn't like me though... well not after I cool down and realise I did too much once again. There something therapeutic and meditative, no matter who wins this battle of attrition.
So funny. I have a large avocado tree on the north-west of my house... and when the nor'easter comes a blowin' I have a real battle to contain the leaf from making their way to the front of the house and into my swimming pool... so a big yes,' wind wins'!
Beautiful senryu... and a not again thought it brings into mind... lol.
With our thoughts we create...
a path of less resistance.

I remember how that used to be my argument about raking leaves period. It appeared to me to be a no win situation. I might have just been lazy. But it made sense at the time. Man 0, mother nature 1. Gretchen

Do like your alliterative flourishes in your first and last lines.
The trick to minimize raking in the Fall is to cut your grass low. The wind gets tricked: it picks up the leaves from your yard and drops them on the lawn that has not been mowed!
