Hi Debbie!
You've chosen one of my favorite artists for your tribute poem. As always, I'm able to celebrate a celebrity and their accomplishments through your careful research and delightful poetry.
I love to learn new things through the care you take in looking up their life milestones.
Thank you,
Hugs,
Rhonda

I know him and have heard his voice, mostly because of "White Christmas" but everything else was new information! So thank you! I didn't know about his attending Gonzaga. I guess his Catholic upbringing made him hesitate singing the non-religious Christmas songs, or at least, that's what I heard.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas and that the New Year will be full of new blessings for you!

It strange how I've always regarded Bing Crosby being somewhat ancient. And yet, I grew up with all his classics. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us, Debbie. Ulla xcx

Thank you so much, Ulla, for this kind review and thoughts! I too have regarded him as pretty ancient but his name and music seem to be everywhere. He certainly knew how to brand himself. Take care, Debbie

Wow, Debbie, I learnt so much about Bing Crosby from your poem and notes (as always, actually!). We always hear his song "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" and can't imagine anything more unlikely. However a hailstorm yesterday in Central NSW made it a white Christmas for some people for a while. The hailstones were up to 5cm in diameter, and the ground coverage was quite thick. Super poem. Such a talent. Hope you are starting to think about publishers!!

Thank you so much, Wendy, for your kind review and all your support over the months! All greatly appreciated. We have no snow either, just endless rain. But those hailstones sound horrendous. You were, at least, saved from them! Love to Sunny! Debbie

Hi Debbie, it is about time I come into your territory as you are always so gracious and kind. I really do love to get your way too when I can. And I do apologize that it isn't more. I do love your work. Especially since you write about such fascinating people. And this is as lovely as all your other ones. I love Bing Crosby as of course in the era when I was growing up, it was about that time that White Christmas, my favorite movie was out. I still love singing the songs from that movie. I loved the one called, Sisters.

Anyway from that era came the Debbie Reynolds movies. Now I don't know how old you are but I am 69. So my mother always told me that I was named after her. And it seemed to be that I know of many around my age with the same name. Mine wasn't always spelled Debi. It was Debby. But I hated it and when I was twelve, I changed it. A little fun fact that is boring but I never told anyone that before. LOL.
Anyway, this is awesome and thank you for all you do to inform about these very interesting and famous people. Merry Christmas, my very dear friend. Love, Debi

Thank you so much, Debi, for your kind and thoughtful review! I think my father was in love with Debbie Reynolds (before he moved on to Dolly Parton:)). It must have been a very popular name. My parents always called me Deborah, though, which holds a strong association with me being in some kind of trouble! Take care, Debi! Love Debbie

LOL, Debbie, still to this day for me, I don?t use the name Debra because it reminds me that I may be in trouble, as then it always came with my middle name of Debra Lee. (Hugs!)

Hello Debbie,
I remember Bing Crosby. He was still around when I was growing up in the fifties and sixties. My parents enjoyed him. You really went to a lot of word researching this. Well done. I love to read articles that delve into famous peoples lives and explain more about them. Thanks so much for sharing.
Have a blessed Christmas gal.

Thank you so much, Lea, for your kind and thoughtful review! It seems we're both in the wars: your poor foot and my bloodied nose which I managed to fall on after tripping on a rug. There was a crack as I landed so I was convinced I'd broken it. But it seems ok albeit swollen, bruised and not the prettiest on display at the moment! Quite a dramatic day. Roll on the end of the holidays eh! My very best wishes to you. Love Debbie xos

Hi Debbie,
This is a well done found poem telling the life of one of my favorite Christmas carol singers. I still watch "White Christmas" and/or "Holiday Inn" every year. The artwork reminds my of the latter picture. The more modern Christmas carol I like is his Little Drummer Boy duet with David Bowie.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Joan
