I love that as well as containing the required 8 words, this also rhymes. Well done, and I'm not surprised you placed in the contest. A great effort.

Beth,
This is a very effective and relevant use of eight words in this time in which we are living. Sad to say that there's too much deception in this world presently. Your image brings the message across the finish line. Congratulations!

Hi Beth,
The artwork seems to show the truth behind what seems like most politician today. This poem is a good definition of deception.
Congrats on placing second in the contest,
Keep writing and stay healthy
Merry Christmas.

This is a very thought-provoking 8 words and never a truer thought has been expressed. Gets my vote! It meets all of the contest requirements and is well presented ann

This sounds like the basis of 'false news'! LOL
Lies are so much more believable when they're interwoven with the truth.
Since 'facts' are plural, your poem would be more grammatically correct as:
Facts interlaced with lies
Are deception in disguise.
Since this is a contest entry - and a good one - it might be worth making the change.

Thank for the nice reveiw. I thought abour the "are" I think to be gramatically correct I could say Fact interlaced with lies Is deception or I could say facts interlaced with lies are deceptions in diquise. I'm comparing plural to singlar which isn't correct. Which sounds better?

So true. Excellent entry, as it speaks volumes with brevity. Nice rhymes and flow. Superb alliteration of D and consonance of L plus S and soft-C sounds. well presented.

Good luck!

Love,

Beth, if I had a high rating left, I would place it for this poem. Your poem explains why we need to tell the truth. If we don't, it's known as a deception in the eyes of God.

Thank you Rosemary. I glad you liked my short poem. Mixing truth with error to deceive is bearing false witness and that is one of the top ten commandments.

You nailed the truth with this little poem. You show us how easily we can be deceived by half-truths. Well done. Good luck in the contest and happy holidays.

This eight-word poem, Manipulation, has the proper formatting and reminds us that the best lies have a thread of truth involved to draw the listener in.

Yes, parading around with a few facts while giving false facts as well is not only dangerous but outright wrong. Lies interlaced with facts seem to be the way most media get around sharing their news and who is to blame?
The internet is to blame in my estimation.
It convinces those who use it that their sources are factual when of course they are made up of lies.

Thank you Jesse. I blame the internet too. Lies have always been around but the internet tries to make you believe them by putting in a few things that are true.
I'll be praying for your fast recovery when you have your surgery.
