The rhyme and meter are well done here, but I'm afraid it's a bit abstract to interpret easily. The first half of the poem and second half could be two different poems because one speaks of the moon and the other of blood and a dagger. I'm sure there is a connection, but I'm afraid I can't draw them together.

I apologize in advance for my infinitesimal small brain. My interpretation? A woman trying for the exact time for optimum sexual activity. The man has his way, affording her great pain and when effects are not optimal, the female takes the blame. I'm probably all wrong.
