"The Giving Tree" is one of my favorite books, too. I'm glad Seth decided to share it with the kids.
Seth and Emma have known each other a relatively short time and yet they seem like they have been together forever. They are such a good fit as they watch out and care for each other. I like that they are taking their time. I avoid mainstream romance novels because it seems they just hop into bed with little consideration for each other. I love that these two are building a firm foundation first.

Thank you for your words. I have a reviewer who says it's unrealistic that they haven't had sex. I disagree. Not everybody jumps into bed.

Good artwork and story to go with it. I like how Emma is getting more comfortable around Seth. She seems to be doing well considering everything she's been through. You did a good job with the shirt scene. Seth did a good job with story time and had a really good activity for the children. I was wondering about including a couple of lines from the story he read, and the children could interact with Seth. A good way to show that policemen are good guys.
I'm surprised Calhoun is still hanging around the bakery and Emma. I like the ending section with Mr. Elliot and Marc. It was nice to see a positive change, and Emma reaching out to Marc about the teen group.
I enjoyed the chapter.

I must go back and read the entire book but you clearly draw your characters well, build interest while telling a gentle story, have people helping people which is theme I happen to love. I don't have a single suggestion to make. I will go back and read earlier chapters to catch up with the story.

What Mrs. Barton said to Emma was horrible. Marc isn't a bad person, just a kid with not enough parental help. Ronnie Calhoun does fall in the bad guy group, so there is danger from him.
