I love stories with happy endings, and this one.... uh... sort of seems like a happy ending. They have a bedbug infestation in France right now. And having just dealt with a bedbug infestation at my mom's house, I'm reluctant to have to deal with that again. But I'm happy for Charlie and his wife's nuptials! Cute story in only 150 words!

This really quacks me up! Vodka can be great medicine, I think. No need to suffer in silence. Sorry I missed voting, but congratulations on your win! Evi

Congratulations on your win. Why not? It is filled with Tom's humor. It is funny, unique, and engaging.
You certainly deserved to come in first.
Best wishes,

Gee whiz, now see what you did? I'm blushing. Guess not, but I am. Thank you.

Hilarious and a worthy winner from a rather ridiculous prompt. Well done for bringing pathos and humour into the contest. Somebody had to! Yours is a sweet tale.

The prompt was rather weird but as I have been told I am a "pinch" of a different sort, so it fit me well, if not perfectly. Not a lot of competition as the majority of the spots were left unabated.
Thank you.

You made me smile with this unusual post Tom and congratulations on your well deserved win. I am glad the duck found his voice eventually and the French accepted him into their community, love Dolly x

This was great. If I recall my history correctly Charlie Chaplin was a famous in his silent films. I love that little reference. It's a brilliant story. Good luck

This is a very cute tail - I mean, tale - of a poor duck who accidentally imbibes a snootful of vodka and winds up being exiled as a consequence. Beware the evils of the demon drink! Thanks for sharing this and good luck for the contest.

Actually, the booze assisted him in being accepted as he found his quack (voice) ut thought so much of himself the flock said he had to go. I appreciate your review. Thanks for the read.

This is a good entry for the - duck hiccups - contest. It is engaging and entertaining. Who would have thought of vodka in a late - clever imagination.
His lips would droop - or his beak?
A most enjoyable read. Good luck in the competition.

I am glad you enjoyed the read. It;s a challenge to make sense with so few words but knowing there is opposition in all things, we have to overcome, at least now and then. Thanks.

This story is as cute as a fluffy chick. Very appropriate, as well, since the sky has recently been revealing flocks of geese migrating south during the fall season.
I googled 'what is a group of geese called' and found out that a gaggle of geese is a group of them gathered together on the ground cackling.
Other descriptive names included a skein of geese, a trip of geese, a nye of geese, a nide of geese, a sord of geese, a knot of geese, a sute of geese, a herd of geese, a knob of geese, a flight of geese, a drove of geese, a string of geese, a plump of geese, a bunch of geese, a covert of geese, a cluster of geese, a gagelen of geese, a chevron of geese, a little knot of geese, a Christmas of geese, a gagelynge of geese, and a V-formation of geese.
Wow...that only covers the names of them in English terms! Lol
I enjoyed reading your entry and the bit of info I learned because of it.

Come on, this is funny I don't care who you are. Pinterest is a motherload of free pictures. but be careful you can lose time there. They have millions.
I get enthralled by the laughing baby pictures.
Good work. Karen

My source, most times, for photos used are my own, as photography was a hobby for a great number of years, so I rarely need to search, but when I do I use Pexels.com - but not here. This is my own, and these two were listening to Charlie's buds who asked them to let Charlie tag along. He-he.

They were good pictures. :-)
