Very sweet and said simply and clearly. The pressed rose must have been a very emotional find. My husband and I used to keep a book of poems and notes to each other

Hi Willie,
This poem is very romantic an sad. It seems the wife died and blue misses her. I think the diary is good to have.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a good rest of the week.
Joan

This is very romantically expressed in your fine verse enhanced by the visual and your choice of font. The story is, however, a sad one and you leave us wondering about the nature of the loss which is perfectly fine because it has that additional element of mystery about it. Well done, Willie! Good job! Debbie

I think poems written from the heart with emotion are the best. Willie P., this was well done and the reader comes away feeling both sad for your loss but quite satisfied that you had wonderful years together.
Peace,
John

My wife and I were dating one month when I gave her a red rose as we drove to a picnic. She said thanks and literally tossed it in the back seat of my car.

Hmph... it all worked out. Married 44 years so far.

Great poem, Willie, filled with love and emotion that jumps off the page!

Cheers,
John

An old story put to rhyme. You have done a good job with this, Willie.
Poems like this always bring a lump in my throat or a tear to my eye.
