You are right about where the blessings come from, our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ His Son, and the Holy Spirit. I might the blessings of our senses: hearing, touch, taste, smell and sight. I'm thankful to have enough sight to be able to still write, publish, and be a part of FanStory. Sending you my best today as always, and blessings in Christ.

I don't know that song but I like that line! I guess I'm such a creature of habit that my gratitude entries are just a habit as part of writing down prayer requests daily. But you're right that each day can look like the same but if we can take the time to thank and praise God, it does make us that much more grateful! Thanks for your post!
You probably already fixed:

We should all count our blessings regularly. Some might be surprised at how many they have. Just being alive is a blessing I enjoy every day, along with many others.

I've tried to keep a thankful journal too but I felt I was having the same problem being thankful for the same things day after day but the list was originally very long.

Those three are certainly the most important basics. What a wonderful world it would be if we understood them better. Would you insert "for" after thankful in "surely, I had more to be thankful for than the rote entries I was journaling." I appreciate the thought. It helps me to count my blessings as well.

This is excellent work. Sometimes I have to do the same. We have gratitude journals since last Christmas that we fell out of writing, daily. Your post gives me the idea to start again. I usually read Psalm 91, whenever I need to regroup. It's been my habit for decades and it truly makes me feel stronger. You use expressive words and colorful imagery that will draw in a readers to hope.
Best wishes,
Alexandra
