"And a Child Shall Lead Them" is a really good chapter with frustrating knowledge about young Stormy and Tyler. But adjustment to circumstances in life that can't be changed was inspiring.

I'm so sorry that you lost the kids but was wondering if they ever contacted you. For a brief time, they knew a healthy and happy family life. And hopefully, Stormy and Tyler were well cared for by their aunt.
How fun that the Lord kept growing your quiver. I'm guessing Amanda isn't your youngest?
Anyway, it's hard all that you and your wife went through but you kept walking in faith. And thank you for letting us know about your published book!

Thanks so much!! What I didn't add about that book, Miracle on Snowbird Lake was how I put so much of me in the pastor character, as I never made it as a full-time minister, though preached and did many things in church. The book was therapy.

This is a compelling story that demonstrates faith, hope, and love. Both you and Mary demonstrated your love and compassion when you took the two abandoned children, fed and clothed them, and gave them stability. When the children were taken away, all you could do was believe God's word through faith and hope. Thank you for this inspirational story that demonstrates God is always in control.

So many times I hear of those that contrive to steal children from others, lie and tell those children they weren't wanted by those that wanted them, making those poor kids deal with the rejection, I love my kids and grands so much, and am grateful to God that He put them in our care. Beautifully written Stan, Blessings Roy
Typo : I had (a) hard time... 2: instead (of) trying to fix lives...3: You have (a) big family now.

I am so glad you are sharing your story. It is truly inspirational. Life hasn't always been easy but as long as there is love and God you have much go thankful for.

Thanks so much Beth. I took my time and doubted if I should post this chapter at the end because it is bittersweet, but isn't that the reality of our lives even with the God moments?

Six stars for interesting content from beginning to end. I liked reading this. Some days we just don't know why things work out the way they do.
How difficult some of these trials are.
Little fixes:
They were left there without the authorities knowing anything about them for four days filled with fear.
For some reason, this reads awkwardly to me. I am not sure if the authorities were afraid for them, or if the children were afraid after having been abandoned.
I assume it is the latter, so maybe try:
They were left alone for four days, filled with fear at having been abandoned, before the authorities knew anything about them there.

And also:
Before she hung up, she said, "You have big family now, there wouldn't have been any room for us."
I would add 'a' before 'big.' And also I would change the comma after now to a semi-colon.

This is a beautiful story of love and how God works in our lives. Thank you for sharing.

but that no one could replace his real mother Kathy. (comma after 'mother')

My wife Mary couldn't bring herself to go against the father's wishes, (comma after 'wife')

with brown bulging eyes and shouted. "That was the best fun ever! "Let's do it again." (shouted, & omit quotation marks in from of 'Let's)

As the grandmother discussed it with my wife she added, "The authorities in (comma after 'wife')

She explained. "Chris had put us through (comma after 'explained')

"Some things you can't get over, but you can get past it." (AMEN!!!)

This just did me in today. My goodness, you and your family are such wonderful people! It's so hard to let people go into an uncertain abyss. We must trust the Lord there too and know our prayers are at work although we cannot see them. I'm experiencing that right now with my oldest son. I feel sometimes I will die of grief. This year has been especially hard.

Thank you for sharing. I'll need to get my hands on your Kindle book asap.
Blessings to you all,
Sal XOs

Hi Stan,
Such a bittersweet story. I'm glad you ended up with a quiver full on youn'uns. I know they've been a blessing. I'm sorry you lost track of the little ones He put in your care for a season. The seeds you sewed will always grow.

I thank you, again, for sharing you story with us. It's uplifting and encouraging.

Take care,
Rhonda
Sorry all my 6's are already spent. This was definitely worthy of that and more.

Thanks Rhonda. I almost couldn't as it was bittersweet, but isn't that where true stories often go? Blessings between bookends.

You are so right, Stan, it is how they often turn out.

Oh, Forest, I was in tears more than once reading this. The cruel injustice to the two children - and the fact that it still isn't resolved! I will pray for a miracle.
You tell this very complicated story so carefully - in such an organized way - it makes me think that you have spent a great deal of time perfecting it.
The characters involved are so complex! You must have been confused regarding decision making - but what stands out most clearly is your relationship with God. You didn't have (and perhaps still don't) have the answers you needed, but you did have trust - and faith, through that wonderful hymn. Then you had confirmation in the birth of Amanda.

This wasn't an easy read! The bittersweet story is very bitter at times. I wonder if I could have been as brave as you. But I'm very glad you shared it with us. Thank you.

Paul
