A good chapter. I wasn't expecting one from you this week, Barbara. I thought you had kids coming over. Luckily, I've been away and haven't been reviewing a lot here, so I have a six still available. I'm curious, Barbara, have you ever written a novel in which the male co-protagonist was a knave and immoral. I can't think of one. I hope that Seth soon begins to assert his interest in Emma ... with Emma even encouraging it.

You have Seth and Emma behaving as really decent people and it doesn't seem odd. Seth is certain to have seen the seamier side of life in his job, but Emma offers him a lovely gentle life. Their care for each other sets them apart as good people finding love.

This is another excellent chapter. It seems like Emma is pushing herself a little too hard.The relationship between Seth and Emma is moving along. There is no room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

In all honesty, an uneventful chapter. A little action when Seth called the precinct demanding the 7am meeting and questions about Peggy.
I think Emma has used the line, "you're bossy" to many times in these chapters that I've noticed. Any reason? Is she trying to maintain a distance of separation?
Overall the story is proceeding at your designed pace, like in the hallmark movies.

Seth, I think, is smitten with Emma, I wonder about Emma with Seth? I guess there's an age difference, but not too much. But there is protective streak in Seth, I think that's the accusation of bossiness, beautifully written Barbara, well done, blessings Roy

Thank you for the kind review. There's almost 8 years age difference between them. Seth helped raise his sister, same as Emma when their parents died. That fuels part of his protectiveness.

Seth is kindhearted. That makes him a good landlord, a good policeman, a good neighbor, and a good choice for Emma once they both admit that it is inevitable. But it takes time to build a strong relationship and they are doing a great job of it so far. All the little details make their relationship work.

Thank you for the encouragement. Hey, I make numerous mistakes. I'm still on vacation, at my mom's. I'm reviewing while she's watching her shows. LOL Friday, we'll go back to see our grandkids.
