I agree many men don't deserve to anywhere around women. They are scum. There are a few good men out there. Thank you for sharing this poem and beautiful presentation with us.

Another fine poem, Gypsy....really captures the sad truth behind the myth often hidden behind the happy veneer of a happy marriage, at least some marriages

What a surprise. I was expecting a haiku but pierced with curiosity open your entry, and found a humorous take on the horror of marriages on unsettled ground. I liked it.

A unique ending to this romance free verse Gypsy. You pull us in with the sensual side then, bam, the soccer punch of the
lying bastard scum.
That made me chuckle, but then, my man wasn't like that. Well done, enjoyed it.

    Haha.... I'm happy you like it. It's supposed to be part funny and part true.

    Some women fall in love with lying scumbags and still feel a sexsual attraction although their men are totally wrong for them and a waste of time.

    My inspiration was weird. I read a poem about Adam and Eve in paradise.

    I grew up in Spain in a time when catholic religion education
    was mandatory in school. During my catechism class, I always got mad at the way Eve was blamed for the pain of the human race and for being expelled from paradise. All because she wanted knowledge. Not fair.

    Anyway, thank you for the excellent review and understanding. You never disappoint.

Nice bit of fooling of the reader in this one. More bitterness than humour really but fair enough. Nicely shaped from your usual sweetness to a vicious ending. Well done.

I was drifting reading a fairly pedestrian narrative, and pow! A few choice expressively driven strong words turning into a rather powerful ending, and I sat up and too notice, well done, blessings Roy
