Thank you for sharing this information with us. My husband got rid of our landline because of all the telemarketer calls. Our cell phones haven't been as bad, but still have them. If I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. I figure if it's important they will leave a message.

This would be a blessing. Just this month I received a scam call. A call to grandma from my grandson. He was in jail, and accident. The woman he hit was pregnant, He needed bail money. Who was it. He said it was Danny and he had a broken nose that's why I could recognize who he was. Now how could he know my grandson's name? It was because I asked who is this, Danny? I couldn't understand. I finally realized it was a scam before I did anything foolish. I said Dan you know I don't have that kind of money so I hung up. I called my Grandson's number and he was at work as usual. Yes, We have to be careful. Good job Brett. Nancy:)

This Registry was designed to allow users to place their telephone numbers on it to stop unwanted sales calls from legitimate companies. Currently, more than 240 million active American telephone numbers are contained on that Registry.", but still is this a 100% guarantee that they will leave you alone? Nice British traditional phone boxes, many of which now serve as mini village libraries! But this is all so true and so horrible. In addition to your warning I would add the phone calls purporting to be from banks that say you are a victim of fraud and you need to move your money. Just put the phone down!
