Thank you. I once had a house turtle that loved being with the cats. They ate together and slept together. She loved it when I played the organ, and loved watching ice skating during the Olympics. She answered to her name.

What a wonderful story Yvonne, and quite unusual, I have heard of people having turtles as pets, but never several, and quite a relationship you have going, and the familikiarity as friends with you, of course not a sparrow falls to ground without God no knowing, Hechas blessed, He loves kindness, beautifully written my friend blessings Roy

They make great pets. Get along with other animals, answer to their name, and are very sociable.

A sad and joyful account in the one piece of writing. The ending was magnificent. When all else fails you are loved by a centenarian turtle. That has to be worth something.

This is such a sweet true story my friend. I love turtles. We don't have any, but I always wanted to. A turtle showed up at our house one day eating the cat food that had gotten wet when it rained. I was so happy to see the turtle getting to eat. Thank you for sharing sweet friend! love and blessings, Teri

Thank you for sharing this story with us. I enjoyed reading. One of my daughters-in-law had a Russian Tortoise, Rachel. She's raised Rachel from infancy. Weather permitting on weekend she'd let Rachel roam the backyard. Unfortunately, this particular weekend, Rachel escaped the fence and was never found again. They put up posters and everything, but nothing ever came of it.
