Spooky stuff, convincingly and engagingly written. Rather you than me, I think. Your description is very effective and the fact that this was true is a little bit scary!

This sounds like a very scary experience and nursing people at the end of their life is a job that not many people would do so I admire you for your dedication, death is not a pretty business and spiritual shadows walking about would unnerve me! A fine post, love Dolly x x x

I can see quite clearly why it would shake anyone up! They used to call them soul collectors years ago at Sunland in Orlando Fla. When I worked there . It was a very sad place to work.I had to work the night shift on the men's ward. It gave me the creeps.seemed every night somewhere three the shadow would come for some folks.some nights they were busier than ever.

Thank you for reading and I completely understand. I use to work night shift in a nursing home, and it always felt creepy.

Yes, I do believe in ghosts, because I have encountered one. But only once. It will y a story for another day.
It is interesting and intriguing what happened on your watch that night. Ulla:)))

That is a remarkable story which you describe so compellingly and in such detail that the reader can't help but absorb all you believe you saw on that occasion. It was a scary and haunting experience for you and I must admit it might well have put me off continuing in the job. I hope you had support/counselling in general in your work. Thanks for sharing. Debbie

Hello SL. My name is Paul and you haven't met me before. If you read my bio. you will find that I am a retired priest, amongst several other things.
So your story resonates with me because we have both seen things which many people would prefer to doubt - angels and demons included.
You are right to be wary of spiritual forces - some are certainly malevolent, though they shouldn't be able to harm Christians, and several lurid horror films give entirely the wrong impression. People who dabble with the supernatural, and ouija boards in particular, though, may be in for some extremely unpleasant shocks. There are people known to me who spent many years in psychiatric hospitals because they thought ouija was a parlor game to entertain the family!
But I am very intrigued by your 'shadow people'. They sound like the commonly held belief in ancient civilizations of 'shades' inhabiting Sheol, or the realm of the dead in Greek/Roman beliefs. But that doesn't really make sense since those ideas are long gone. Would you say that perhaps these 'people' were visiting the lady who died, to take her (willingly) with them - then I can't tell you whether they were a form of angel or not. We generally believe that angels are all to do with light (just as Jesus is the Light of the World).
I am interested to know how you responded to their presence - were they frightening? Angels would have brought you joyful fear.
So, a puzzling story - but if I gave advice, I would suggest you prayed - maybe the Lord's Prayer, or read Scripture aloud - especially the Gospels, and I would call on the Lord to protect me and banish Satan from my presence - also ask protection for the hospice and everyone within it.
Thank you for sharing your extraordinary story.
Paul

Thank you for reading my post. I have always believed that patients have a spirit or angel help move forward when they pass.

Guardian angels are a recent Christian belief. No problems there.
Could fill a book on this subject!
