A little dark with the shot bodies and grave plots. Ha! The rhymes are awesome. I was shocked to see that this contest winner had no six star rating. I righted that injustice by giving it my much coveted (in my own mind) Saturday Late night Six Star. My work here is done and the universe is once again balanced.

I hope you are smiling!
Douglas

Awe, Douglas, you sweetheart! I started sorting these for books a while back so I could get to the bucket list item of publishing at least one book. There's so many that I need to get into and clean up, as I have learned so much about meter since I got here. I keep meaning to do so, but you, my friend have made my year with your thoughtfulness. Thank you for the kind-hearted review and words for this one, and for christening it with your six stars. You are Awesome, my wonderful friend!! Lotsa Love, Debi

Thank you, Debi, for sharing this poem. You sure found a lot of words to rhyme with "not" and used them well. I like your closing, "cause Heaven is the Perfect Spot"

This poem is not only cleverly written and a delight to read poetically, it is full of good lessons any grandparent should try to teach. Thanks for the reminders on almost every line of what good parenting/grandparenting is all about. I really enjoyed this poem. MM

Thank you so much for your very sweet comments about this mega monorhyme. It was a bit of a challenge and at first I had no intentions of sharing, but when I heard the great response, I was so happy that I did.
So thanks again. I appreciate it so much, dear one.

I like your monorhyme poem. You have both internal and end rhymes for every line -- I'm impressed. You have some heavy content here, but the light style & fun rhymes make it work. Good artwork by Kenzie; I love that you're holding hands in the picture. Have a blessed week. Carol

Thanks Carol for the awesome comments for Kenzies art and my mega-mono-rhyme. When Kenz was little she drew over 40 pictures of us doing different things. Now she's an amazing artist at 20 yrs old and does much of my art here. And thanks for the kind review my sweet friend!

That was very well done with the monorhyme, Debi. You have double internal rhymes as well. You must have broken out the rhyming dictionary for this one.

Hahaha! I cannot tell a lie. When I could no longer do it on my own, yes I did look at a rhyming sight. Especially when I was challenging myself big time to use perfect rhymes, internal, stay in meter and make sense too. At least that what my challenge was. Thanks so much Paul for your very kind comments. I sure do appreciate them all, my very dear friend.

As my brain gets softer, I find myself using the rhyming dictionary more often.

Well I'd love to know if this is a specific type of poem or not. I know it's creative. Sometimes I try to do something and I find out that I wasn't the first to do it. I liked this piece with creativity in the words but also the sentiment was true. We start young thinking our life will last forever and then we realize time has slipped away and we are approaching our eternal destiny. Embrace the love from above.

Hey Dan, I am sure this has been done before, but with this
mega-mono-rhyme. I l wanted to challenge myself with bigger things and by rhyming this with only one rhyme, keeping a perfect meter and still have it make sense and tell a little story was big for me. So I do appreciate your lovely comments. And also the awesome six stars. I am honored! Thanks dear brother.

Sorry Dan, lost you about the 75 issues. Or do you mean responding to reviews? That in itself is one humongous issue! Haha! I hope everything is fine. There is one poem that I just won second place on that won't be in your messages. It is called happy and free. And I am not telling you because I want a six. I never ever want you to think that. I do miss you however when I haven't seen you for a while. It's a sister girl thing you know? But anyway I think you will like it. Kinda for the fourth too. Actually I am writing a prose now on why it is so great t appreciate out freedom, Not sure if I will finish in time to post, we will see.

This poem, What I Thought, presented with six rhyming couplets, tells the readers that life can be a happy and joyous affair with all the players knowing that love is the basis of all you do.

-Thanks for sharing the artwork, note, and poem, Debi.
-It is interesting how a thought or mood can develop into a poem.
-You wrote it well with effective imagery and rhyme.
-You do a good job describing different emotions most
of us have felt, and show how you have dealt with them.
-Our children bring us a lot of joy, and I also agree
about kindness being important.
-Good concluding lines, as well.
-Have a good day and a Happy Fourth of July!

Hi there Mary, thanks so much for your kind words for Kenzie?s 3 yrs old art and for my poem. I know that you love her art now that I use so it was fun to use this oldie. Y?know that I have over forty pictures that she drew of us holding hands while doing different things together. She loved art even back then. Lol.. Thanks again, my dear friend.
