This is fun to know: "One of my grandgirls had called my dad, Grand-Papa Pick
It didn't take too long to see that title for him stick" It is interesting to know there are so many terms for whom I called Grampa. One was a blacksmith but died of cancer when I was 3. My maternal grandfather carried the Native American heritage, taught me how to dowse at 3. As a farmer, he contracted TB & passed when I was 5.

I'm sorry that you didn't have a grandfather very long. I hope you have some memory of him Liz. And thanks so much for your lovely review and kind words for this poem. You are just so darn awesome. When my eyes are done healing, I am coming to find you and do some reviews too. You are awesome!!!

Awesome work, as usual. Great rhyme scheme, great flow, easy read. My late husband was Paw-Paw (you forgot that one - LOL). Our grandkids love each December when I give them a calendar of pictures of Paw-Paw so they can still see him all year long. I keep the pictures from the calendars each year and make a photo album of him. He is SO very missed. He was the best Paw-Paw ever!!!

Monica, I thank you with all my heart for your lovely review and words and six stars for the grandpas poem. And shoot, I wish I had used it. But even tho it is a few days old and not promoted anymore doesn't mean it won't be seen. It will be in a children's book I am doing, so I am going to go in right now and give Paw Paw his very own stanza. If you don't mind I would like to use it to tell of the ones that are missed?
Actually, it is done and if you want to read it to them or show that they are part of a poem with Paw Paw. They may enjoy knowing that, since I am still working on the book.

Thank you for our trip around the world of grandpas, with all the different names. Grandmas are known for big hugs, having tasty treats, and baking cookies, but grandpas are extra special. Your creative poem describes the many things that make them special. Recognizing grandfathers is a great Father's Day treat.

Hi Debi, this is beautiful and heart warming. I really wish that I was able to share it with my own grandfather as it has a warming and nostalgic feel. The line "He teases and he tickles, then they soon are on the run" bought back a lot of happy childhood memories for me.

Thank you for sharing!

Hi Debi, this is a cute look at grandpa's around the world.

Of special note:
For some, their time more precious, maybe is just once a year
Time together goes too fast, makes Poppa shed a tear

(It is sad to see the children go.)

A fun poem and lovely tribute to grandpas around the world. Well done.

This is very sweet and that you use the 'grandparent' names for some of the writers on here and in other languages. So clever. Well done. I don't know if I saw any errors, but who cares, you know. Very fun poem.

Thank you for celebrating grandpas with your fun poem. They are all different, but they all have one thing in common--lots and lots of patience and love.
My grandpas are both gone, but you brought back some great memories.

This is a really good Grandpa poem, Debi. That song by the Judds is one of my favorites. My grandfather on my mother's side was the most influential person in my life.

I truly enjoyed your tribute to grandfather s. My Irish grandfather was Papa. My husband's Jewish grandfather was Zayde to him. Zayde was an Eastern European immigrant.
Best wishes
Mary

Hi Mary! How cool is that? Sounds like you and our ClaraBelle have a lot in common when she called my dad Papa Pick. I will add the Jewish name to my list. I find the names very interesting. I appreciate your kind comments for my grandpas. Thanks my sweet friend!

Very interesting .You have strung grandfather in different languages into a colourful poetical garland. It was nice to learn the different languages.. I loved it . You have taken a lot of trouble to research these information...
