A reviewer was not sure what it meant...glad to see you understood..

Instead of valley of tears or valley of death, I put valley of doom (which means the same thing) but doom rhymed with the word womb in the first line. (wink)

I took two hours to find that rainbow-hued pic ... I really was lucky.

In my country Good luck is simply : Buona fortuna

or there is a more colourful way to say Good Luck


someone can say : In bocca al lupo ( into the mouth of the wolf )

and then the person replies : crepi il lupo ! (may the wolf die)

I enjoyed the imagery of this 5-7-5 which is very clever! A bit worried about 'this valley of doom' because, although I get your meaning about hope entering the doom-ridden world, I also interpret 'the valley' as the vaginal birthing process which seems a bit harshly labelled as 'doom.' Hope that makes sense. Whatever, this is an excellent and thought-provoking verse and a strong contender! Good luck! Debbie

I had in mind the valley of death ..I put doom to make it rhyme with womb
It took me two hours to find the art choice (wink).

This is a very good art work. The lines are very metaphorical. Rainbow can be the symbol of hope and rebirth .The syllable count is perfect and all the best for the contest.

This time,I wrote the poem first and then went looking for a suitable pic ..took me two hours but I'm happy with it too.

In all honesty , I didn't think I would be that lucky.
