So sorry to hear of your pet's passing. It sounds like Sunny made your life sunny--thus the name I assume. You will forever treasure the relationship and the sweet memories.
Thank you for sharing your tender story. Condolences for your loss.

Thanks, Debi. I miss Sunny, and yes, she made our lives sunny. Thank you for your kind words and for calling it tender.
Grief is hard. Yet as each day passes...the memories get better every day.
I will treasure her memories forever!

I am so very sorry for the loss of your Sunny! I know she had to be very special. Fifteen years is a long time to have a cat. Our oldest one was 15 or 16 years old. It is a hard thing to deal with, but just know I care and God cares very much too. I pray you find another older cat that will make you feel loved again! I wish you lived close to where my husband and I live. We have many older cats that were raised from a kitten up until now. We would surely give you one to make you smile! Blessings, Teri

Nicely written. Good work.
I'm sorry for your loss.
I guess that's gonna be the cost, the price, of love - broken hearts.
Either the loved one leaves us, or we leave them. Either way, heartache.
Best wishes.

Jesse, I am so sorry for your loss. If I have any other words to express my condolences, it is these, and I hope they will give you some comfort --

Someone once wrote that how can our loved ones rest in peace if we are missing them instead of cherishing the memories... I have lost many beloved pets in my seventy-one years, my friend.

Your Sunny is with Jesus -- I have no doubt.

Thanks, Dawn. I cherish her memories so much of the time. I think of her often. She has brought me many sweet memories and I am grateful she shared her life with me.
We were meant to share lives together!
    Thanks for your comforting words!

What a beautiful and loving tribute. May Sunny rest in peace and may you find a knew companion. I had a cat for fourteen years, her name was Callie. There were two others, which my landlord forced me to get rid of. Callie was an exception due to her age. Sadly, she developed a form of extremely fast growing brain cancer. The vet said there was no treatment for it that would make any difference. She passed away two weeks after the cancer began, and about three days after her diagnosis. I have not gotten another cat, although I miss having one terribly. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Thank you, Monica, for your six stars and I think this is one of the most touching reviews I have read.
    Thanks for sharing about Callie!
Your sharing brought tears to my eyes!
I am sorry for your loss as well.
I understand why you did not get another cat. It is hard and I wouldn't want to replace one cat for another since they will never be the same as the one before.
Thanks again for the extra star!
    Jesse

You express how I will feel when my seventeen year old cat passes away. I like that Sunny touched people's hearts. It sounds as if you are planning to go to the SPCA and adopt an older cat. That would be nice and give both of you such pleasure. Keep us posted.

Sorry for your loss. I appreciated your thought about loss, and the dangers of depression. Animals can be very helpful and loving companions, and it is hard to lose them. I appreciated that your story examines grief, and does so without wandering into self-pity. It looks at loss in a very mature and thoughtful manner. I wish you the best working through your loss.

Jesse you know I always love your stories! One suggestion is to single space within the paragraph and double space between paragraphs! I think it would be easier to read.

I'm so glad you shared this wonderful piece with us and God bless you!

Oh, Jesse, I'm so sorry! I know how much Sunny meant to you, and always will. As with the passing of any loved one, it's the memories that will get you through it, and the support of the people who care about you. Make sure you allow yourself to cry or grieve any way you need to. I've lost two cats and, more recently, two parents, and the best way I've found to come to terms with it is to allow myself to face it and to feel it. The grief may hit you at the oddest times, but it's okay. Feel what you feel, and do whatever you need to get through it. The people who matter will always understand.

You are one of the people that matter.
Sorry for the delayed response to your review but I knew you of all people would understand.
Memories are important in a lot of ways.
Yet you are right! They will help me through the worst of times and relieve me through the best of times.
    Thanks for understanding!
You are a great and wonderful friend!

Oh, thank you Jesse! As I said, I've been where you are, so I can see it at eye level with you. A loved one is a loved one. It doesn't matter if they're two-legged or four-legged.
