Happy Anniversary! or belated anniversary since I'm just getting around to reading your post. Forty four years is a long time to be with anyone, but I'm guessing your wife must be a saint. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Well, she has the aura of a halo about her, so Sainthood may be closing in. Thanks, Ric.

This is a fun read. I like your rhyme scheme. I only found one extra comma that could be deleted easily where it says: Finally, in short,,
I think I would take the comma out here:
and still, smile as my wife.
Bet someone loves your poetry in your house.

Very cool. If everyone took their wedding vows seriously, it would be a better world. Too many don't stick it out long enough to find out if their mate might grown on them. Happy Anniversary!

Thanks for the well-wishes. May God allow me a few more. Myra keeps me young, being ten years my junior. It's hard to believe her parents allowed me to date a gal, then nineteen for three years before tying the knot.

My husband was nine years older than me. We got married when I was eighteen. I met him when I was sixteen.

Since men, statically die four years sooner than gals finding a younger girl to marry was a good idea, I think.

Yeah, because men can't handle being my themselves. They would be sure to marry again. The women get to be the caregiver.

Hilalarious but so
Beautiful.
That's what it's all about.
Accepting the faults and enjoying the essence of the man/woman.
Happy anniversary.
And many happy returns.:-))Z.

Tom,
It is undeniably clear that you are a most fortunate man to have shared all these many many years with this most fortunate woman. Excellent poem.
Many more! Congratulations!
Richard

Happy Anniversary you two! Jackson and I was newly engaged today, 48 years ago. We married in December. My love was still in college with two years to go. I hope you have a wonderful day and celebration. Sending you all my best too.
Sal :))

Happy anniversary to you and your lovely bride.
While poets write about love with passion, hearts and flowers, when it comes down to it, it accepting your mate with all his or her flaws, willing to compromise and being considerate of the other person. It is true companionship.
Beautifully penned anniversary "gift."
Best wishes
Mary

My wife may not be perfect, as she tells me, but she is the perfect woman for me.
