Love the photo attached to enhance this well written haiku. All syllables are in check to relay a message on beauty in transformation and the questioning of one's fate after our eventual taste of concluding freedom. Nicely done. Best of luck in the competition.

Slipping back into poetry - a little at a time. Some of the Bible verse are hard for me to understand. The one you cite is one of them. Nice comparison to the butter fly in your Haiku.

Thank you Paul. I think our new body will be a different and more magnificent version of the present one, and death will be like the chrysalis stage. Thank you for a thoughtful review.

Good luck with your contest entry; loved the presentation and the message was well received. "There is no death when eyes grow dim. There is no death when I think of Him. I'll lean on Him forever and He'll forsake me never." K xx

I like your Haiku, showing how the butterfly developing from a caterpillar is a symbol of how our bodies will be changed when Jesus returns for His people. Our mortal bodies will become immortal. What a hope we have.

Yes, it is a wonderful hope and a certain one. I think of death as merely being like the waiting stage of the chrysalis. Thank you for a wonderful review.

You made me smile here as death of us humans may not mean the end and there could be a whole new world waiting for us on the other side! This post is hopeful and endearing Wendy, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly. Glad you liked it and saw hope within. I see death as a waiting stage, like the chrysalis.

A lovely Haiku with the perfect syllable count. I know they don't have to be 17 syllables, but I prefer it when they are.
It reminds me of a song I wrote: The first verse was about a caterpillar chomping on the leaves in the garden - an enemy, the second was about its struggle and ours, and the third was about the butterfly's freedom and ours when we get to heaven.

That sounds like a great song!! I am glad you liked this one. I was thinking that the chrysalis stage is like our death (like a long sleep) and at the right time, when He comes, we are raised immortal, fully free. Thanks so much for reviewing. Always appreciated.

I like your poem and your reference to the Bible passage about how we will changed. The metamorphose of a butterfly is a good example of what it is like to be changed.

A thought provoking haiku. Alliteration with 'caterpillar crawls'. Internal rhyme that works with 'free' and 'we'. A perfect quote from the Bible to enhance the meaning. Good luck in the contest.

Hello Wendy,
that was a great scripture to go along with the poem. Its a mystery how a caterpillar can turn into a butterfly, but it's a good analogy of how we will be changed. Well done gal.
Have a blessed day.

Thank you Tom. I am glad you liked this short one. Perhaps the chrysalis stage is akin to our death. The comes the new body!
I appreciate your review.
