You know so much about the Grand Ole Opry and the entertainers of Nashville, which would make for some interesting conversations. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I find this to me an interesting topic and I look forward to reading about. When I grew up in central Mississippi unless you have a battery operated radio with a pole running high into the air you couldn't get radio during the day. Saturday night was my favorite time of the week because the Grand Ole Opera came in clear.

An interesting post about the beginnings of this KDKA radio station providing a good lead-in to what you will say about the Grand Ole Opry. You have obviously done a lot of careful research. A commendable write. Well done.

This is an interesting beginning to the Grand Ol Opry becoming a major draw on the radio for people all over the country. It's a good idea you warned some of your readers about the subject of part 2. I'm interested in any wild idea so I'm looking forward to how "Doctor" Brinkley's experiment leads to the Opry.

I just never know what I am going to learn by reading your posts. This is another great piece of research and information about the start of the Grand Ole Opry. You must spend hours upon hours checking into these subjects. Great post. Can't wait to read about the doctor. Gretchen

As someone who has been to the Grand Ole Opry and I enjoyed it very much I am finding us to be very interesting. I was truly amazed at the sound quality in the Raymond auditorium when I was there. As a kid growing up about the only music that I heard was Country music because my dad has very interested in country music. Patricia

This is an excellent post my friend, it certainly is a comprehensive account of the proliferation of country music. Despite what people think of it, it's survived a long time, and the fact that the first radio station survived the ructions of time, that is amazing, beautifully written Brett, blessings Roy

Hello Brett,
Wow, this is quite an in depth look at how radio stations came about in the U.S. Like so much else, I never really gave it much thought. Why did the government need to regulate these stations- was it just to make money on licenses or was there another reason? When I was growing up in Ohio, at least once I got my own car, I used to listen to CKLW Windsor and Detroit. Man those were the days. They played all the modern music. The whole time I lived in Hoonah, I couldn't get a radio station on the car. Now I listen to a country station that plays all the classics. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

My guess would be Sirius Radio, Channel 59, Willie's Roadhouse, is the station you listen to. Appreciate your comments and the review.

A well-written and researched expose on the history of licensed commercial radio leading up to the establishment of the Grand Ole Opry. The writer's enthusiasm and energy in this story are infectious as he captures the reader's interest for the next instalment. Thank you for sharing. Debbie

Feels too clumped together, try thinning out some of the language or sayings, in short. Make it easier on the eyes and easier to read. I think adding in some more personality would help too.

Come talk to me when you have enough intelligence to hold a conversation. Until then you are simply fill of crap. No wonder your eyes are brown. And, what is that stench? Oh that is just you running your ignorant mouth.
