Hi Ginda,
This is a well done poem. Its lines connect grammatically and describe the sunset of a river. The last line has a religious feel to it and reminds us how old parts of nature are.
Keep writing and stay healthhy
Have a great day.
Congrats for the honorable mention in the contest
Joan

The language and imagery capture the essence of the moment, transporting the reader to a place of serene beauty. A serene night scene along the Nile, where the moonlight casts a magical glow on the ancient waters evokes a sense of timelessness and tranquility.

This is very nice, and you've found the perfect presentation to enhance the scene your word paint in the reader's mind. I've never been to or seen the Nile in person, but this makes me want to go.

Well done.

a lovely description of the night sky over the Nile, which is, as you said, as old as time. You got a lot said in 20 syllables!
Congratulations of All Time Best,
Katharine

Oh how I relate to this poem... My father was born in Russia and when he was two he moved to Cairo 1915...he spend his life there until he met my mother and moved to California...long long story.
Your words cross the borders and fly into the hearts of those that read these powerful yet simple words.
I loved it!!
Your choice for the image is perfect!!

Thank you, Lisa. I loved hearing about your father's Cairo connection. I lived there for six years and the experience continues to enrich my life. I have written three books of Egyptian journals, illustrated with my paintings of the country and the people.

Oh now that is so interesting... I too am a painter and my grandfather was also a painter... I have a marvellous water color painting of the Nile that he painted, over our fireplace.

Oh, please share a photo of your grandfather's painting of the Nile. Egypt is the subject of many of my paintings. If you would like a peek, visit www.gindasimpson.com

Oh yes, I think Sumer was the first civilisation, but closely followed by Egypt, of course Abraham came from the Sumerian region, and Egypt is symbolically earthly, (as the Jews escaping slavery), this is a great entry in this contest Ginda, blessings Roy

This is a beautiful picture, and I can think of no river that seems more as old as time than the Nile. More world history has taken place along its banks than any other river. Very well written poem.

Nicely written and thought well conveyed in this 20-syllable poem. The picture goes well with the poem and its image puts you at ease. Fitting title; great reference to the Nile.

You paint a beautiful picture with your words. That indigo night seems so dark in my mind, and the moonlight on the water glowing like a gem. The Nile seems timeless in this setting.
