Hi Nicki,
I like the three stanzas of definitions starting with Love is. It shows how wide ranging love is. You use so many adjectives that shows different kinds and sources of love. It always should be cherished as your last line says. My one slight question is. If love is spoken and not shown how is it love. Because if someone says he/she loves you and acts the opposite then the declaration of love is false.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Hi Joan, Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Love spoken, not shown? As a therapist, I met a lot of men who felt love for their wives and said the words, but were not affectionate or thoughtful. They didn't do anything opposite.. Just didn't do anything special. Most hadn't ever seen the doing part modeled in their youth. Most were ready, willing and able to learn.

This is a finely expressed free verse perfectly fitting the brief and rich in alliteration and even 'loop' adding cohesion and flow to the poem. I enjoyed this very open interpretation reflecting I think some of the writer's own inquisitive mind(: Thanks for sharing and good luck! Debbie
