Yes, it's becoming quite apparent they won't be able to hold out much longer with denying their attraction to each other. I love this slow, steady buildup. Well, done, Barbara. It will also be interesting to know just who is in that Crown Vic. Jim

Seth and Emma are greatly attracted to one another, and it might be a seemingly just friendship to them, but mutual attraction is hard to deal with if you're not sure about the other's but it's obvious typo others, beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : her friend walk(ed) by. 2: Can I push(ed) up your T shirt?

This is the first chapter of your book I have read and I like it because (1) both Seth and Emma come across as real people, (2) each exchange between them is believable, and (3) you make me wonder how their relationship will develop.
I have but one slight criticism. I never see them. I assume you've described them physically long before this, but give me glimpses of facial expressions. This can be done with short tags. Example: He gave her a shy smile as she applied the cream.

I did describe them earlier and often still do as I feel necessary. I will consider doing it more often. Emma is a redhead with bright green eyes and Seth is muscular with a trimmed stubble for a beard. Just a little. I hope it helps. Thank you for the kind review. I'm glad you stopped by.

I hope you're having a wonderful Mother's Day. I remember those Sunday dinners. It seems like we always had company or went to visit relatives. Mother always had things well in hand before we went off to church. Potatoes peeled and ready to cook, dessert made, etc. Yes, it was usually chicken. Sadie's a delight, and she gets Seth to open up a bit. Folks are noticing how Seth has taken a shine to Emma. Fun bit about the dogs. Mollie sleeps on the bed, so Ace figures he can too. To me, a little too much about the sunburn. Okay to mention, but maybe not so much detail. What's really interesting is the Crown Victoria that seems to be stalking Emma's place. Interesting that Emma's birth parents might be behind it. Several leads to follow up on. Excellent work. judi

The sunburn will play a role in this story, for the next few posts. Thank you for the kind review.

Very good chapter, Barb, especially about the dog sleeping on the bed. You have also hinted at something mysterious in Seth's past. This will come up again, I'm sure.

Yes, it does come up again, when Seth is ready to discuss it. Thank you for the kind review.

First, a happy Mother's Day to you Barbara. I hope you're getting spoiled.

Thank you for the notes explaining Emma's innocence. It gets a little tedious at times in the story, but knowing it helps.

Good chapter continuing with the story...
John

Thank you for the kind review. I know in today's society it's hard to believe someone is still like that, but I do know people who are.

I don't think whoever is in that car has good intentions. I would be a nervous wreck if I were Emma. As far as her innocence, it is rare to find someone like these days, but they're out there.

Emma doesn't know about the car. Seth has kept it from her. Not sure it's a good idea. We'll see. They sure are out there. Thank you for the kind review.

I like the ending. Now we know a little more about the possibilities of her parents. I do like Emma's innocence. It is believable. I see her as someone who has little to no experience with men. Sheltered at home and keeping herself sheltered when she went away to school. She has nothing to draw on when Seth acts out of his normal range. Great finish to this chapter. Gretchen

Maybe there is no, "exactly right" (perfect). This is another excellent chapter. Your explanation helped me understand the relationship between Seth and Emma. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.
