Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Very touching and mimics my son's death and my wife's suicide.
This was well written Rich in Theme and Imagery.
And you're right the very your child is a parent's worst nightmare.
It also, read well and flowed well with no Grammar Issues.
There's not too much you can say about something like this except to pray about it and realize that she's in a better place than both you and me.
Thanks for sharing this Jessica and have a Blessed Sabbath Sunday.

Beautiful, emotive poem and a fitting tribute to your cousin. Thank you for sharing a piece of your soul with all of us. Love everything about this poem. The bright colours and the name. Great work.

I did not expect that twist. This truly made me tear up especially reading your about section at the end. I'm very sorry for you loss.

"Plucked like a sunflower right in her prime" wonderfully calls back to that great image you painted in the beginning: beautiful and full of life, yet gone all to soon. How carelessly we take and how carelessly things are taken from us.

May her light continue to shine on you, even if only from above.

Jessica, what an endearing lament in perfect rhyme for your departed soul friend. My condolences to you and to her husband, who will carry a burden on his heart to his grave. I am out sixes -- so here is a virtual SIX!!

What a beautiful tribute to your cousin! I'm so sorry that she was taken to heave too soon and it could have been avoided had her husband been responsible. I guess he will indeed be haunted for the rest of his life. Loved how your started with the sun and the sunflower and ended with the sunflower and the "brightest star."

Hi Jessica,
This is a smoothly metered and well rhymed poem in honor of your cousin and friend Megan. Sorry for your and your family's loss. I like the metaphor of the sunflower for her light. It is apt since it was her favorite flower.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Joan

This is a very beautiful and well written poem you have penned about what happened to your best friend/cousin. You used great descriptive words that are full of love and sadness. Your notes were very nice too. That is so neat about the perfect heart shaped birthmark! I am so sorry for your loss. love and blessings, teri

I'm so sorry for your loss. I started reading this thinking it was going to be just a light poem about a beautiful flower and I didn't expect the tragedy that was to come.
How come people still haven't realized how dangerous it is to drive when drunk? Why do they get drunk in the first place?
Thanks for sharing this story with us. I hope writing the poem has been somewhat cathartic at least.
