So many victims. In some parts of the country people's
horses have been shot. In my
state and in particular the
Asheville, NC area shootings
have been rising. Some
people's apartments and
homes are shot into with
people getting hurt or killed.
It's total insanity. You've
written this poem perfectly.

Guns used properly don't kill. It's the unskilled and the young who kill with or without realizing the consequences of their actions. And parents who are stupid enough to leave their guns out in the open for children to see and play with. I've seen too much death by guns, and I have also seen guns used properly so education of guns is the most important thing for me. Great write. Thank You for sharing. Have a great week a head!

I'm like you in that I don't advocate against gun ownership, as I wouldn't want criminals to be the only ones with them. But I sure wish there was a better to way to screen and keep them out of the hands of the mentally unstable or less capable of making sane decisions. Thanks for sharing.

i agree! people can have guns, but they need to be registered and legal and be kept locked up so kids can't get to them

I think if the public can't be trusted with a gun, it should be take away, and if folk don't a feasible reason for a gun, it needs to be taken, otherwise one's enemy is not Russia or China, North Korea, anyone else out of gunshot distance, it's your American neighbour, well done, blessings Roy

Guns in the hand of one who is responsible, who knows how and when to use it. One who knows the terrible consequences of taking or ending a human life, whether deserved or not. That is who can be trusted with a gun. Everyone else should stand down. One who hunts for food, and not for fun, are exempted.

Probably never. The allure of guns and the imagined power they give to those who crave power is much too strong. Even when gun violence hits home to convert a particular individual, most others will just think, it will never happen to me and remain unchanged.

Amen. Well said, nomi. So many school shootings amidst all other shootings. My 5 years grandson just had a lock down drill. It's so scary. Someone brought a gun to school and apparently got through the gates fine. My son was at school when a shooter killed five Vietnamese children and wounded many more.
I hope laws are passed to ban mt-15 riffles and all guns background check. Those riffles are for soldiers at war not for civilians.
