This was a wonderful haiku, Gypsy. Painting by Diego Rivera, "el Vendedor de Alcatraces" (calla lilies)-the painting was phenomenal. Your words did the painting justice. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!

What a sad poem about this nicely drawn painting of a hardworking vendor. The lilies are very beautiful but the vendor's life is not.

You inspired me to write one, too.

Well done.

Yes. We had to go to Milan to see my son's art exhibit which was an unexpected trip. Now I'm back. We met the famous Italian artist Luigi Serafini. He wrote "Codex" book.

Luigi and I are connected in Instagram. He is also following me.

When sales are poor, the flower seller is in a lot of need. I like the sound of "basket full of needs" because it reminds me of "basket full of weeds" - something else a gardener knows well.

Congratulations on your 3000th post!!

Thank you, big sister. Diego Rivera was a famous Mexican painter. He was married to Frida Khalo, my favorite artist. Both painters had a very unique style and often political themes. They were for the workers.. the poor class.

Hi Gypsy, congratulation on your #300 milepost. Your poem is well done and illustrates the difference in the social-economics between the rich and the lowly worker. Of special note:

lilies for the rich at market --
basket full of needs

(Good analogy and satori line)

Well done. Beautiful presentation. Keep the blue waters flowing.
