Hi John,

This is a poignant piece, melancholy and heart wrenching.

The awareness Message is strong and I hope not biographical.

Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, Kim, for the great review. It is not biographical, but I felt I needed to write on the subject. Thank you

This was very powerful. Gave me chills. Yes, there are too many suicides and suicidal attempts in this world which should have been prevented.

Psychological help is the prescription, bit too many people bottle up and don't get it.

The imagery and visuals are incredible.

This needed to be said.

Your words are exceptionally powerful and moving. The mixture of dialog and descriptive imagery brings the reader into the room standing next to the bed. Very intimate. Meaningful message. Nicely done.

This is a well written and tender piece that really tugs at the heart. Suicide is such a tragic end to life. I've known several people who chose that way and I was left wondering why. They had so much more still to contribute and were such wonderful people.

Debi, thank you so much for the six stars and the kind words, and words of first-hand experience. It is an issue to keep at the forefront of our minds, and I thank you for your validation.

How awful to feel that desperate, that hopeless. We should all have eyes and arms wide open. I agree. Well said. Thank you for writing and sharing. This should always be on the forefront. Cherish

I hope, this is purely fictional, John, although I do realise it's the reality of many. And it breaks my heart.
Your poem touch a raw nerve, it's so beautifully written, and so very sad. Ulla:)))

It is always disturbing to read of suicide, but to read such an emotional poem about it, with a father having to witness the results of a daughter's decision to let go, is painful.

This has the ring of authenticity unfortunately. You have captured the horror of this very moving situation with dreadful realism. Every parent's nightmare. Brilliantly written. Best wishes.

Such a heart-rending story, John, so well told in verse, reminds us that, as happened with a friend of mine, unintended suicide can strike at any time. I have learned to recognise symptoms of misery that precede this, and hope I have done my bit to relieve it, by the simple expedient of inviting the sufferer home to enjoy some light-hearted company.

I'm so sorry, John. All my "review" words turned to salty tears and are gliding down my cheeks as I sit here feeling the pain. It is ironic that the most powerful poetry leaves me speechless. This is every parent's nightmare. It goes against all natural order. It breaks the heart and yet fills it to brimming with every ounce of love possible. Outstanding.
(Please, God, don't let this be true)

    Hello, dear friend!
I'm sorry for the somber setting of this poem. It conjures emotions none of us ever want to live in reality, but I like to lean heavily on awareness pieces as they have been stark reminders for me in the past.
I thank you for this beautiful review and the six stars, Karenina.
I hope you are doing okay.

    John...

Do not be sorry. I have lost five family members to suicide...

It is essential that awareness be increased!

I can't even imagine, and I hope I never live that realization. It seems so many here have lived this and it breaks my heart. It's never easy to lose someone, but to remain with the question "WHY?" would kill me. Hugs to you dear lady!

Unfortunately, family members of a suicide victim are two and a half times more likely to die in the same way.

    It becomes a learned behavior...

I "live" to break the cycle!
