kids are way smarter than most adults give them credit for lol

this was a great story poem full of hope and love
smooth rhyme and flow

one suggestion i have is maybe try a black or orange background to blend in with the cool picture and a yellow or whitish font? just a thought ;)

thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest
shelley :)

A profoundly touching poem and bonding moment for you both. I understand the need to protect, but as a child, truth can be freeing too. Yet, it's a delicate balance as a mother so no judgement here. They have such tender hearts. Wonderfully crafted in alternating rhymes.

Sending you my best today as always, and my good wishes for the upcoming contest.

This poem story is priceless. Immediately, it reminded me of my own daughter, at that age. I had been diagnosed with MS, and left my exhausted soon after when she was only one. As id go through my treatments, she would cheer me on, draw pictures, she even left notes in the backs of books that I only found years later. You have a treasure. When your daughter can feel what you're going through and she sees your strength, you are also a role model for her, she is sensitive like my daughter was. She treated me like her Rick star. I hope you and your daughter will always remain the closest friends. My daughter is now 30 years old married with two children, and my story is sad. She didn't talk to me or see me. My terrible ex that I left to protect the two of us, ultimately won her over with gifts and trios as a teen. Now he moved away with his fifth wife. I was wife 1 in my 21st birthday. I was reminded just over ten years ago, and I'm very happy. But ny daughter is still estranged from me. I pray your circumstances will keep you and your daughter closest year after year, always together. :)) Alex

Alex, I am so deeply sorry for all that you've gone through. I can't imagine. I can sense your kindness and sincerity in your writing and reviews... your circumstances are unfair, to say the least. Hold on to hope and trust there is a reason for your struggle. This, I know- you are unquestionably an inspiration and your strength is deeply admired. My prayers for a reunion with your daughter are with you!!

Outstanding entry for the Share A Story In A Poem contest. You have a very wise daughter. My youngest daughter is the same way. I think she has an old soul. Well done! Good luck in the contest.

This is a beautifully and emotionally written contest entry. Children are so wise. Thank you for sharing this with us. I know it had to be hard to write, but I'm glad you shared it with us. Good luck with the contest. I doubt you need it. This entry is a winner to me.

Wow, thought I had the tears out of my system last night, but reading it again felt like the first time. I have no surprise element where you and your girls are concerned. You are everything Morgan said you are, and she is a part of you. You say that she gave you such a gift that night, and you are right. She did, but you gave a humongous one back. Just as you obviously do everyday of her life, because it is so apparent how worried she was and how much she loves you.
That does it, I want to adopt you all. Every time I look, you seem more like me all the time.. only you are really sweet and nice, and I can be a brat, ask my husband... God bless you sweetheart and also that Angel of yours, well both of them. You are blessed but don't ever forget how much you bless them, all of the ones around you, even here. And especially me here. I know it isn't possible for anyone else to feel the way I do about you. Well you know what I mean!
And if you ever need a friend and want to talk about Kelly, or anything else, I am ALWAYS here for you. Don't ever forget that, K???? Big hug and kiss!!!

Debi, your words always bring me to tears. You have no idea. You?re the most uplifting person I've ever known! People who do and say things with no agenda are hard to come by... At least for me. Thank you for your unwavering sincerity. I'm so blessed to have met you! <3 <3 <3

Excellent! Funny (not really) how we try our best to keep from adding to someone's pain - and by doing that very thing we add to it. You are not alone. It looks like you're doing life right because your daughter can talk to you..and you listen. Great job. Cherish

This is an outstanding poem, Jessica, about the wisdom of your young daughter. How very perceptive she was and what a profound effect her words had on you. Remarkable, really.

The rhyming was excellent, and the only thing that keeps me from giving this a 6 is the inconsistent meter. Meter in poetry is kind of my thing. I've studied it quite a lot recently and developed my own ideas about it. I have a number of suggestions for you if you'd care to hear them. It would take quite a bit of explaining and demonstration, so we would have to work something out like exchanging email addresses, as it's too difficult to do through these messages. If you are interested, let me know. My email address is jwile123@gmail.com. You don't need to supply yours here. Just write me and I'll get it then. I've done this with a couple of other folks, like our friend, Debi. Jim

It is so easy to create anxiety in others I think. Communication is such a difficult thing. Congratulations on another fine poem, and your book is advancing steadily. kay

Oh Jessica what. Great story in poem form Sometimes i think we don't give kids the credit due and they are wiser than we think
Your daughter is obviously an intuitive and kind little girl and old enough to share your grief with her Tell all about your sister and share her and your sadness together
A great post
Cheers Chris

Like you, I lost my brother 2 years ago and I miss him every day
