To any and all who have emerged from the glory days of youth...through the ever-changing springs, summers, and falls of marriage -- and still, STILL find beauty in the wondrous beauty of the winding bend in the road ahead...I say Hurrah! I want to copy this free verse and frame it! (May I? Just for personal enlightenment?)
There is fairy dust and magic in everlasting love. There is faith and grace beyond all words!

-I don't know if you remember me telling you
that we are both the same age, born in 1950
so I can relate very well to your poem.
-I have been married for 42 years.
-I can also relate to some of the changes
you mention taking place as we age.
-But we are both on FS and still have
a working brain and creativity as well
as a wonderful partner in life.
-You have very good images and
show how special your wife it. That
is what love is all about!

An excellent romance poem expressed with sensitivity and palpable love and affection. The image of holding hands, albeit elderly hands, skilfully conveys the tenderness and endurance of this love affair. I particularly enjoyed the first stanza which is sublime. Thanks for sharing, Debbie

Long standing marriages are most commendable My friend Jim, I don't think age is kind to musculature or the Frame they work, but love is endless when two people blend so well, this is a great testimony to endurance, well done my friend, blessings Roy

A lovely snapshot of your 40 years this year and yes we have all aged and time does us no favours still to be together for so long is testament to weathering all storms in a marriage and still able to sail in smooth waters.
My husband and I celebrate 49 years on the 17th April this year ( so you can guess what my poem will be about that day)
