Part 2 is as amusing as part 1. Pluto did a lot of damage but was loved on
Earth, which certainly mellowed his attitude. This was fun to read and a story kids would also enjoy.

Thanks very much, Carol. My young grandsons did enjoy it, although, only 7 and 9, some of the vocabulary needed to be explained to them.

This is a very good astronomy lesson in verse. I was really disappointed when they demoted Pluto. I have a book somewhere in my basement about Pluto and the 2006 decision.

I think the reason for the emotional outcry against the IAU's decision to demote old Pluto was that it was so ingrained to us as kids. Now what will be do with that mnemonic of the nine planets: My Very Enthusiastic Mother Just Served Us Nine Pizzas. Without "Pluto" we wouldn't have pizzas.

Yeah, it wasn't really his size. It was the fact that there were too many other large bodies near him in his orbit. Sounds like a crummy reason to kick him out to me.

This poem was funny and informative. I liked the plot, and the pettiness of Pluto. I like the interplanetary politics at play here. Both parts to this poem were enjoyable, and together it's a well-told story. Your rhyme and rhythm flowed nicely. I liked it.

Thank you for sharing the real reason Pluto lost it's status. I always thought or maybe heard somewhere that it was because of it's such a small planet. Your poem is creative and fun to read.

I wish I had a six for this wonderful poem about the trials and tribulation of the "insufferable pest" Pluto. Filled with humor, great rhyming and imagery, it was a pleasure to read, especially to a rhyming fan in me.
Lots of great little finds, and more humor, I am glad he mellowed in the end.
Pluto went home as a far different fellow--
more kind to his neighbors, more laid-back and mellow.
Humble and modest, at long last he felt
a friendship with all in the great Kuiper Belt.

Very few poets here have this ability to write lengthy humorous pieces and maintain the clever wordsmithing and regular meter to pull that off. I stumbled on the meter in one or two lines but overall this was excellent and well-deserving of a sixer.
