I am reminded now of all the days I mentally "checked out" as we studied Greek Mythology in high school. (Oh my)--

Thank you for the cheat sheet in your author's notes~ although I did find myself traveling to Google Village to learn a bit more about each Greek God mentioned.

What sophisticated writing!

"when the grip of death
causes the fruits of the land to die,
my soul rebounds!"

Oh yes. Please le tit be just like this! Let me never forget that even the darkest and coldest days give way!

This free verse, Seasons of Nature V, gives the readers another look at the seasons which the Greeks personified, so we could feel the intention and purpose of the transitioning seasons. Nicely delivered.

An interesting parade of these goddesses who were new to me - but now I can picture them rather clearly, and I will be looking out for them in the future. Thankyou. kay

Oh JLR This is so gorgeous in every aspects,so original and beautiful to read so definitely a six from me. You must be in the same or similar hemisphere as me here in Australia, as we are also in Autumn (Phthinoporon) and I too do not like Winter (Kheimon) (my least favourite season, I hate the cold) and always look forward to Spring (Eiar) knowing that my favourite Summer (Theros) is nigh.

Cheers Chris

Lovely tribute to the gods of the Greeks and their relationship to the seasons and their characteristics. Very engaging development from start to finish. Well done. A good chapter, a very well written poem for your Seasons of Change book.

The photograph is so inviting and your poem goes on to show how the Greeks gods interplay with the seasons.

The transition appears to be mystical amidst the blossoming of spring.

I appreciated the information as well.

Another fine chapter in your April book. :))

Gloria, thank you. I felt quite uncertain how the transition into Greek mythology would be viewed.

It's not a. Long suit fo ne, the Greek mythology, the fabulous way in which those incredible stories, I love the Greek god, they have to be created by man, because they are more human than man, from the very orchard that inspires us to wickedness, if the gods do it why can't we? Fabulous post in articulate language, blessings Roy

While reading this, my first reaction, aside from admiring your knowledge of Greek gods and godesses, (though I'm not familiar with the names of the handmaidens) was to suggest you leave on a vacation to someplace warm for the winter duration, but... then I finished reading.
This is a lovely poem with wonderful descriptions, and a warm, cozy cabin sounds inviting.
When I was at Mary Baldwin College we had a course in Greek and Roman mythology. The teacher actually read to us - no taking of notes and no text books! I loved it and remembered a lot of it for years. Only a little now. actually hardly any, :)

Pome Lover, what a delight read for me. I have held a kindred spirit connection with the Greek Gods, perhaps a carry over from a previous life ..who knows, Thank you for slogging through another review of the Greek humanties.

you're most welcome. Thanks for slogging through mine :)
I don't think I want to know what I was in a previous life.

You did an excellent job of combining mythological characters with the seasons of the year. You described each season well. I especially like how you ended on an optimistic note for spring.
