"Tell the truth. Express your feelings. If you like someone, tell them. If you don't, leave or at least be upfront with them about. Life should be that simple.

Excellent entry for the NaPoWriMo April Poetry Contest.

I can relate. My last relationship was one of extreme emotion, madly in love and scruciating pain when it ended. If I had a chance to do it again I would in a second, perhaps changing a few things.

Hi Jessica, what a wonderful entry for the NaPoWriMo April contest..Well, to reach out for love is also to reach out to risks. Love is never a safe bet, but it's an invaluable experience. The risk and rewards are worth it. Ulla:)))

It's a nice take on love. Love is a unique emotion that no poet or philosopher could explain; a chemical reaction in the brain, a powerful force to recon with.

You brought it our well. Liked the imagery, visuals and presentation.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I think each love teaches you something. It gives you what you need at the time. Some is an illusion. Fulfilling those childlike dreams of pure love, while others give us the hard earned love. Others are lives between souls. These all are love. Timeless love is pure. Your poem offers a look at the question. Thought provoking. Great job. Gretchen

This is a fine prologue to your NaPoWriMo endeavour. I think it told us clearly, without any accompanying explanation what we should be expecting from the thirty examples to follow. I'm looking forwards to reading more fine examples of rhyme as the month goes on. kay

Poem number one! twenty-nine to go. I love this month and read how everyone is doing.
Your poem asks many questions, and you first one I've also asked myself. Is it better to have loved and lost? No, I don't think so. The pain of loss is awful. It doesn't stop until you either realise it was him/her that was the loser, not you. Or until you meet someone who is worth far more than the first love. Well done, this was a lovely poem to start your month with. Good luck with the rest. :)) Sandra xx
