A wonderful beginning for your book! I like the roadmap imagery, the unknown destination without directions or distance to travel. I remember when we were told that diabetes is 'a disease where the worst days just get worse,' shortly after my husband's diagnosis 40 years ago. I fully understand that unknown journey without a cure. Praying with you along the way. Carol

Carol, thanks for reading, for understanding, and for caring. Happy Easter.

Of course. I've learned that God gives us comfort and hope so we can share with others. Happy Easter to you as well.

Hi Ginda, What part of this is a Good day does the Doctor not understand?
I know that the truth is important but it is the way to be told something that can make all the difference, and being a Nurse of 53 years (and still working) I see the white coats at times be quite blunt and uncaring in their delivery of news.
To tell you to google up information and hand you a prescription for levadopa and go does not surprise me. Hmm, so much for a bit of compassion, or fully informing the patient about his diagnosis.
I look forward to you April posts and wish you and your husband many good days ahead
Cheers Chris

Thank you, Chris, for reading and taking the time to express your caring thoughts. The delivery of the diagnosis was the worst part of that good day and one I will never forget. Needless to say, we have a new neurologist who specializes in PSP, is honest but compassionate. Thankfully, we have had many good days in this first year following diagnosis.

Ginda, indeed a heartfelt and very meaningful poem, and a beautifully written one from the heart. Your concluding line is shocking and powerful. The clinical attitude of medical staff is well portrayed. I would offer a six if I had any left.

Thank you for reposting the poems. I really like your use of metaphors and I agree that it "evokes an avalanche of emotions." Thank you for doing this NaPoWriMo challenge! I hope it's a blessing for you!
