Although we have baseball in Australia cricket is the major summer game, I played a game called rounders as a boy, which is the likely ancestor to baseball, we played with a cricket bat, ball and four bases in a diamond shape, played in Tudor times, it's a centuries old game. Enjoy your baseball, well done John, blessings Roy

Baseball was always fun in the spring. It brings back good memoriew. I used to go to all the highschool gamea and I don't mind watching it on TV. You sound enthused about the start of the season. Maybe it will give you an alternative to watching soap opera reruns.

I enjoyed your poem. I love opening day. As a one time partial season ticket holder of my beloved Phillies I have been to a few home openers. Went to game 4 of the 2008 World Series and to game 4 of the 2009 World Series. Damn Yankees!!
