Please Bring Me Flowers

That was awful, but unfortunately, it does happen. But, saying that. The elderly lady was happy to know she had a 'wedding', and a 'daughter' and had a visitor every week who brought her flowers. She died happy, and that is what is important. The two pretenders will get their comeuppance one day, but they did do some good. Well done. :)) Sandra xx

Clever story and interesting plot. Also not far from what can and does happen in some instances. Sinister but compelling. Liked it a lot.
All the best.

Thank you Barry for your review and insightful comments. I'm sure that if I thought this up as fiction, someone has thought of something like this to try. Thanks again for reading and for your generous stars.

You did an excellent job writing this story. It was horrifying and troubling, but it's good that your story evoked such a strong response. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thank you so much for your review and comments. I hope no one is evil enough to try something like befriending a patient and then taking their money. Thanks again for reading and for your generous stars.

Unfortunately, this is probably more fact than fiction. People do some devious things to get money. On a side note, maybe Marla got something out of it too. Here's to hoping. I was warm and fuzzy until the second part. You got me. Gretchen

I like the twist in this story, of course to actually carry this off, one would need to know if there were any relatives in the will. But what a good idea for a story I still think this is a great story, beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : Like us to bring (them) next week.

Thank you Roy for your review and comments. In the story I say they go to work at a bank and find someone with lots of money in the bank, but no beneficiary. That's who they target. But this is just fiction. I hope no one can actually get away with anything like this. Thanks for reading, and for your generous stars.

Hello,
Excellent job. The story grabbed my interest.
Good character development for Sarah and Rob ... they seemed real. Good plot, you surprised me with the crooks plot. I hate people who take advantage of elder people, specially someone with Alzheimer. Good luck!

What a horrible ending, but probably happens way too often. This is very well written.
"Stop," Rob, interrupted as he shook the hand he was holding. (no comma after Rob, but 'interrupted Rob, shaking the hand he held.' reads a little better.)
Sarah walked around the small cocktail table that separated them and bent down to wrap her arms around Marla. (you can omit 'down' it's understood)

I hope this scam isn't alive and well! But I can see why scoundrels could get away with it for a while. Good bit about the yellow dress. The ending points out how they find their victims. Super and scaring. I always like your posts.

Bastards! Taking advantage of the elderly like that. A good scam, but they will slip up somewhere down the line and get caught.
Your dialogue when the mother was alive was very real and believable. A excellent twist/turn of events for the ending.
Good writing.

Oh, my! These kind of scammers do exist and unfortunately, even within the real family members. Poor Maria, what a way to go.
You have a lot of my family members names in here: Maria, Sally, Sarah, and Rob. Hilarious coincidence as I was reading along.
Sending you my best today as always, dear Butterfly.

Thank you Sally. I appreciate your review, insightful comments, and generous stars. Wow! A real coincidence on the names. At least Marla had beautiful flowers, but she paid a million dollars for them. Scam. Thanks again for reading.
