Hi Yvonne,
And the moral of the story is:
1. Stay out of the woods at night!
2. There's no place like home!
3. Home! Home! Home! (said ET)
4. Three square meals and a place to sleep!
5. Never listen to a rooster!
6. There's safety in numbers!
7. Sometimes Freedom is dangerous!
8. Better to be cooped than pooped!
9. All men are rascals!
10. The most feared state for chickens to live in is Kentucky!

Cute story! I enjoyed it. Nice entry for "The Escapees" event in Flash Fiction/Non-fiction!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Yes, sometimes, as with all of us, we don't appreciate what we have until we don't have it anymore. But once it's gone, then we sure start seeing what we're missing. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I thoroughly enjoyed your fine tale.
Even animals can come to realise what's best for them though sadly some don't make it through their adventure.
Cleverly crafted, believable and with an obvious beginning, middle and end. Blessings
Shirley

Lol. Yes, they need the assurance of safety and security and protection from danger. Well written story, as seen from their perspective. Enjoyable read.

Aw, Yvonne, isn't this too sweet. I can understand the made a run for it but after two nights out running low on food and being scared witless, they are all come to happy compromise. I loved it. Ulla:)))

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I enjoyed reading. I can see these chickens plotting this. I'm happy to read they made it safely back to their coop without that pesky fox getting them.

This was great fun and gave me something to laugh at before breakfast. I don't know whether you have the term 'parsons nose' for a certain portion of a chicken's nether regions but it you do, I would suggest it as a humorous alternative to 'tail feathers' in which the rooster could be a pain.

You made me laugh before breakfast and that has to be worth a six.

The grass may seem greener on the other side but we often find out that it isn't. I liked the phrase: (you foul fowls). ha ha ha. This is an amusing post, much enjoyed Yvonne, love Dolly x

I guess they found out which side their bread was buttered on didn't they? Where do we hear these cliches? This is really funny Yvonne. Even a bunch of hens can learn a lesson about safety and comfort. Well done. Nancy:)

That's cute! And sounds like you have had experiences with chickens as they seem to know "damommy!" My favorite phrase was "pompous feather duster!" Great theme of "there's no place like home."
