So sorry for this news and that you will miss this milestone in Jackson's life. Covid does suck. I too had the shots but still got Covid. Your story tells of this experience and how it messes with our lives. Hope you and Jackson can celebrate at a later date.
Blessings and get better soon
Janet

Same here, both shots and boosters. There is no 100% preventative, I believe it just achieves milder symptoms.
Thank you for reading and the well wishes.

Hi John, I'm really sorry to hear that you have Covid. There is an RX for Covid, but you must start to take it within a certain amount of days from contracting the virus.

Of special note:
--My head was like an anvil absorbing every blow dealt with the hammer.
(Good descriptive writing. I do hope that you start to feel better.)

J, I'm sorry that you are not getting to share your Grandson's birthday.
Grandchildren and their milestone are so important. Too many people have missed too many things during these last three years, starting with children and their education to grandparents missing family events.

Your story is well told. Humor helps to make us feel better. Get well. Don't be shy about calling the doctor. You only have but One life.

so sorry to hear Covid 19 has struck you down.
It's so hard to miss family milestones.
I hope you recover quickly.
Covid is such a horrible virus - my husband, daughter and I all had it last year-fourteen days of nausea, mucous overload, night sweats, choking cough and more.
Blessings
Shirley

I am so sorry that you are ill with covid. Sorry you missed your grandson's party. There maybe just a silver lining in this by being able to have Jackson all to your self in facetime as he tells you of his day.
Great well soon.

Loved it, John. Great idea with the short versions leading up to the grand finale. I've only had Covid once, and it wasn't quite as bad as yours, but bad enough not to want to get it again. Despite all you did protecting yourself, you still got it. Makes you wonder if it was all a scheme by big pharma to make billions with continued vaccine sales.

Make sure Jackson saves you a cupcake!

Oh dear, John. I had it three times last year, and it has left my immune system shattered, and like you, I'd had all my jabs, and a booster. But, Covid doesn't do what it's supposed to do, go away, it hides and strikes when you least expect. I'm so sorry you will miss Jackson's party, and licking off all the lovely icing. Perhaps he can have another tea-party later just with his grandfather. I hope it doesn't stay around for long. Rest and drink lots of water. Hugs and love, Sandra xx

I'm so sad for you, John, that you won't get to be there
for the birthday party. Covid sucks. I do hope you and
grandson get to Facetime. Also, I hope your daughter takes
lots of pictures.
Take care, Jan

Covid is so irritating, among other things. All the social activities that have to be missed because of it are inconvenient. I hope you get well soon and that the FaceTime goes well.
I like the creative way you told the story with the increasing number of words in each story and then let us know the whole story.

Covid sucks! I hope you suffer a lot less than I have now been doing for a month. I seem to have the original old-fashioned variety. I can't breathe, and have a brain full of cotton wool. and every day is worse. kay
