This is a touching poem that allows the reader to see into your pain and understand the loss that comes with letting go of someone that means dearly and played a big part in your life. One day at a time, faith and positive thinking will open the door to new beginnings. This is a well written poem and one that will allow for cherished memories to stay strong.

Hi Jesse,
This poem shows how much she meant to your as a friend and a caregiver.
It must be hard when you have to change caretakers after a long time. Did she retire.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Good morning, Joan. No, she only worked for me for three months, yet we bonded like no other caregiver before ever did.
Cindy up and quit without giving much notice so, I have to train the next caregiver just like David trained her.
I will stay healthy and keep writing!

Good morning, Jesse. Sorry to here that she quit so suddenly. It must be hard to train caregivers.

Yes, it is hard and taxing on the brain.
Cindy had trained extensively for the job, and she seemed to love it...until she left suddenly and quit.

It's like losing a family member. I know because I've seen how close caregivers can get, my mom having had one. I'm sorry you have lost someone who supported you, but there are many very caring people out there who will fill that void. Thanks for sharing.

-I am sorry about your caregiver, Jesse.
-It has to be very difficult to like someone and
the care they give, and then they aren't able
to fulfill that role for whatever reason.
-I like how you use her green truck as a
theme in the poem and a symbol
of her presence in your life.
-You wrote a good poem expressing
your feelings and concerns. Thoughts are
with you and hope you find someone
in the near future. Take care.

Oh no. Brain bleed? Or simply up and left? Maybe overwhelmed with her health issues? It's hard to be a caring friend while also adjusting to losing your caregiver/friend, Jesse. You sound very sad, and I'm sad for you, my friend. I hope you have a quick response with finding another caregiver...but I know Cindy was so much more than that and I feel your heart hurt. I hope she said a proper goodbye! Or left you a way to get in touch just to check in! Your poem is so poignant! Hugs to you and Sunny...

Hello, Jesse,
I'm sorry for your sorrow. I know how it feels, it's very hard to let go. You expressed yourself very well. I pray you find a kind caregiver soon.

A good caregiver is family so I feel your loss. I particularly enjoyed the first stanza of this poem - the concept that a memory of a view can distort a current view was very original, and believable. Praying you find a new caregiver (assuming you still need one) that comes close to matching Cindy.

Hi Jesse, as I read your poem my sweet friend...
tears came to my eyes...
it breaks my heart to think of you waiting...
and looking out the window for her green truck...
it's hard to lose someone who has won a spot in
your heart...I wish I could bring her back to you...
but the way is sounds...she is gone...
but Jesse...sweet guy...you will find another caretaker
that will fill that empty spot...and you will find things
about that person you will enjoy as well...Sunny (cat) and you...
I am so sorry for whatever reason Cindy had to leave...
but we are all in God's plans...and He is right their with you...when one door closes...He always opens another...
we don't know the reasons Jesse for why things happen...
we just have to know God loves us...and we have to trust
it was for a good reason...
I can feel your pain...but it is just going to take time...
though sad...your poem/story are very well written...
sending you a hug...and a smile...(*_*)...love Linda xxoo

Oh jeez this is heartbreaking. I'm so sorry your caregiver left, I wish you all the best. The writing, pacing, and wording of this is excellent! Great job, and I hope you in real life can find someone else to fill the hole in your heart.

Thank you, Kayleigh, for this complimentary review with kind words of praise for the writing, pacing, and wording of this piece.
Your consideration for me finding someone else to fill the hole in my heart is inspirational and noteworthy of your kind and caring heart.
Thanks for the extra stars!
