Amazing how lies begin and are spread.

This is a fun little story, and your rhymes are solid. I always read out loud, and I found I stumbled over the end of stanza 3 - it felt that the meter was off. Perhaps something like 'it spread from end to end' might flow better. kay

Children don't realize the harm that a lie can cause. This poem just came out of the blue. Guess that some of mine are born in my dreams. Thanks so much for your kind review, I am working on that stanza.

I like this rhyming poem because it teaches a valuable lesson about lying and it appeal to all ages. One hopes that Benny apologized to Tye and Tye was willing to forgive. Rod

When lies spread around a town it can destroy someone's reputation and worse, it can cause an uprising. Your poem has moral in its tale, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

As it's said, a little white lie will only grow into a situation created and causing more and more lies to cover up your steps!

At some point, the truth will surface. Then what do you do?

Cheers to an honest weekend...

Lies have a way of growing and spreading like the branches of a tree. Lies are bad. Unless your wife ask you if she looks fatter. Then a lie is a lifeline in an approaching storm

Nice poem. Flowed very rhythmically.
