Brett, I can well understand why you were worried about the work Dusty had to do. I would have been as well. And Dust to understood your concerns.
I'm curious about one thing, If I may ask. Did you ever get to calling him Dad? I hope you don't mind me asking. Ulla:)))

Yes I most certainly did. Still do till this day though he died the day after Christmas in 2007, and I am now an ancient relic. Appreciate the question and the review.

My husband works with caustic and chlorine and other chemicals at the water plant in out county. It is quite dangerous and can be deadly when people aren't paying close attention to what they are doing. You had every right to be worried. This was another great installment. Gretchen

There are miniature over my suppose in the world who have fathers who are working in dangerous jobs. I am sure of the children all know the dangers of their fathers were encountering each day. They probably wouldn't worry too. I enjoyed hearing your story. Have a blessed day and take good care of yourself. Patricia

I would certainly have been worried about that job as well. I remember when my Daddy worked at the bomb plant during WWII; I was worried about him and I was five years old. Sometimes being a parent is a dangerous Job. My husband worked at the Nevada Test Site for 25 years and he ended up with a Cancer from the radiation and it killed him. My son-in-law worked with Agent Orange during the Vietnam War and it killed him. Good job, Brett. Nancy:)

I read almost all fiction, so I'm certainly enjoying reading real life about someone I already like and enjoy learning more about. Thanks for sharing.

Yes a parent takes on a big roll as a parent!
They take jobs they don't like to feed the family.
Yes setting up and taking down sound systems pay good money.
A heck of a lot safer too.3-17-2023.

Dusty was, indeed, a good person. You're lucky you found him and we're luck you're sharing him with us. Thank you for doing that. I enjoyed reading.

All I could see was something go trajically wrong and Dusty get injured. (tragically & comma after 'wrong')

This has excellent details that mark this as a conscientious non-fiction piece. I only found a couple of things to improve on: "Yea, that stuff."
You can change "Yea" to "Yeah." Otherwise, it sounds like the way a knight in shining armor might say, "Yea."

Performer's tour bus
I am not sure why Performer's is capitalized. I would un-capitalize it to say performer's tour bus. I would think the next chapter might even expand on what kind of performer you are talking about, or you could lengthen it here. Singers? Actors? Dog show owners?

31 previous chapters enlighten on the type of performers I am talking about. This book is my autobiography about growing up in Nashville, Tennessee. Appreciate the recommendations and the review.

It is good to know you are deeply concerned about Dusty's safety. I doubt your worried about anyone safety at the Hermitage. He had taken on the roll of a parent and plans to make sure your needs are met. This is the way a parent/son relationship should be.
