This poem does a really nice job of showing the progression of your time with your love. It feels like each stanza was almost an era of your time together, with each one showing the progression of a beautiful life together. Nicely done.

I gave your poem, six stars, not because the six stars are a big deal, but your words are most sincere. I was in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968. My high school sweetheart wrote me a dear John, but later we got married. We were married for 32 years. But through the years she changed, and in my opinion, she was not the same, caring person... and she divorced me. I missed the person that she once was. Best wishes.

What a lovely 'note from afar.' It is indeed hard to be separated from the ones we love, and I am sorry for your loss. My favorite stanza is the second one,

The love and longing come through clearly in your lovely and romantic tribute to your lost love. I love the closing stanza with the love floating upward. I'm sure she catches it when it arrives.
