"Note from Afar" is a loving communication from the world of the living to the world of the dead. It is in the best sense a eulogy, speaking with gentle, deep feeling about a partner who is gone. The poem uses four stanzas that explore the emotions remembered in relating everyday experiences.The string of ordinary but nonetheless passionate recollections are poignantly chosen and capture a reader of this poem in a life lost, and then offers salvation to the pair of lovers by the promise of a heavenly reuniting.

To be without one who was so close, one who was the author of your best memories, is like trying to live without a heartbeat,. To be struggling for breath, to walk with a weight on your shoulder. It is very difficult. Sometimes it can become too much to bear. I am so sorry for your pain and loss.
