You have given us a hint od some suspense or problem brewing .The car is not innocent .it can have designs on Emma. The chapter was smooth and free flowing and you have made Emma very interesting..

Emma does tend to make some creative decisions. That Crown Vic seems like someone could be watching her. She has certainly added some amusement to the sheriff's life.

I like how you're adding pieces to the puzzle as you go along, creating character flaws that will be built on and addressed. I've always been someone who thinks characters are what stories are about and what makes the plots. Thanks for sharing.

Seth Carter being a bid strong man offers to lift Emma winters down from her precarious position up the tree, and Carl suggests a citation. I think that Seth is decidedly attracted to Emma, I think he's almost following her around, a very sweet episode Barbara, blessings Roy

A good image and story to go with it, barbara. Seth seems to be in the right place at the right time, and he probably plans it that way. I imagine Emma was just a little embarrassed about being on the roof. She seems like the kind of person who does more than she can do, at times. She has good ideas, but I don't know if she thinks all of them through.

The ending leaves us wondering who is driving the car of the deceased person that it's licensed to.

I am enjoying this story, and hope they will get together without TOO many complications. I am sure there will be difficulties or it wouldn't be a book. Glad they are both "dog people". But the presence of thta car is creepy. Interesting and well written.

Seems like a mystery is unfolding with the car which is registered to a man who is dead. Is someone stalking Emma? I think it was considerate of Seth to apologize for Emma's embarrassment.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

I'm really enjoying the development of your characters, Barbara. Some thoughts and notes:

Once he held her thighs, he steadily guided her until he held her waist and her feet were in the ground. [That's a delicate area of real estate between her thighs and waist that he "guided her over, LOL. At the end of the sentence, I think you intended, "on the ground" not "in" it.]

He continued walking, shaking his head, and chuckling. [Even though Emma mentioned it, and you mentioned it in your description of him, to me ... this may be too much. Just my opinion.]

I love the scene where she goes over to Seth's car and announces that she's a fully functioning human being. Effective!]

Jay

Great job. Character flaws are not a bad thing. It makes the character a little more human. The Crown Vic is creating good suspense. There must be some romance in the future.

I think Seth is perfect, and I understand why he shakes his head at Beth and her shenanigans. The mystery car has my attention, but what reason could there be for anyone to harm Beth? I'm staying tuned to find out.
