Another romance seems to be brewing here. We see the police chief obviously attracted to Emma, he keeps buzzing around her like a bee around flowers. She seems at once a bit head strong and independent minded, but also vulnerable. You created that sense with these scenes of her trying to get the kite off the roof and getting stuck there, and sort of appearing aloof around Seth. She comes up with her plan to read to the kids and doesn't tell him. But he worms it out of her. She seems to plunge into things without thinking, and he seems to be around to bail her out and keep an eye on her. You did most of it through dialogue, always your strong point. As always, the dialogue is true to life, realistic, with clearly defined personalities, crisp and with an undercurrent of mysterious emotions. estory

Thank you for the encouragement. You got out of this post exactly what I intended.

A good down-home story. Small community and love bloom in blue. Believe this or. Not, Janet Huckaby, Mike's wife when her children were small no need to call anyone. She played ball with them and would climb a tree to get a cat. Regular Tom Boy. They pastored a church at the same time I did in the seventies.
One of the kids now is the governor of our state. I felt privileged to have voted for her.
This is a good story you are writing. I look forward to reading more.

I have followed Mike Huckaby. He seems like one of the few good politicians and so does his daughter. Thank you for the kind review.

They are. When voting, I vote for the Christ I know that dwells within them.

I did wonder if he had Parkinson's. My aunt had it and my brother-in-law has it now. It's a horrid illness. But from what you say in your author's notes, it might be something else. This car that keeps turning up where Emma is, doesn't sound good. Then again, it could be watching Seth. Another excellent chapter, Barbara. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for the kind review. Seth does not have a medical condition. Yes, this care is worrisome.

Oh, I'm so glad. I'm now very intrigued at why he keeps shaking his head! Lol.

Hi Barbara, I enjoyed this chapter very much. I loved the scene on her being rescued down from the roof. I also don't believe the police will do much about the matter. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the kind review. I doubt Emma will only get teased. There was no vandalism.

I really enjoy reading your new book about a police officer Seth who has a crush on Emma, the daughter of his friend and coworker Keith. He kept running into her. One day when he saw her in the bakery, he noticed a strange car parked outside. You go my attention already.

Well done.

Thank you for the kind review. Keith is Emma's dad and his co-worker is Carl. The strange car has been at the lane going to their houses and at the park.
